“It’s funny – Americans are the colonials who ran away from the royals, and yet we’re fascinated by them.” David Bryan

From sea to shining sea there are girl gatherings that are happening in the middle of the night. It would seem a secret club is about to forever form, a pact, a gathering however said it is about to commence. These women are joining together to witness live the Royal Wedding. Invites on Facebook, and otherwise, are happening. This may be foreign to men. I will tell you what this interesting ritual will look like.

Ladies grabbing a few hours of sleep before they wake up, put on their tiara, or wedding dress, or favorite pajama’s to come together. They will arrive to some elected home, or apartment with I am sure mimosa’s, or bloody Mary’s, or English tea, or wonderful coffee. Some may have English crumpets, or others doughnuts, wedding cake may be part of the gathering menu. Outrageous, outlandish, these women folks!

My friend in Oregon is going to bed at nine Friday night. Then she will set her alarm for one in the morning. Have coffee, shower, put back on her favorite pajamas and off to her friend’s house she will go. She will arrive promptly at two in the morning. There will be nine girls in the group and the Television will be tuned onto the royal wedding. They are having mimosa’s and Irish coffee. English pastries and pancakes. This is the super bowl for some chicks, the dream fantasy wedding to imagine what it would be like to be there. What it would be like to marry into the royal family, and to be a royal by marriage. What will she wear, what will the other royals wear? Mind boggling questions that will reveal themselves with millions watching. This event will make the Oscars look like they are sitting still. Will Elton John or Paul McCartney be on the guest list? What will we do with all of this great hullabaloo?

Men love sports, playing, watching, following, betting. It is an activity that is time honored traditional and fun. Many woman love also to follow a team or several. I am guessing very few men could give a rat’s ass about the royal wedding. Unlike their sisters, wives, girlfriends, and female coworkers. Many of us girls are just a little bit bonkers that way. As the royal parade begins thousands, of millions of people will be watching. Nail biting drama, or fascination at its finest? Just know many a girl-group will be gathering to spectate and witness this rare and special occasion.

Go girls go!!!!!

Although I would like to say I am organized, focused and cookie-cutter, that simply would not be me. I am no different than any other woman in the world. I love to love, love hard, and, in the end, have learned to love myself above all else. So here I am, writing about the many men and the multiple purposes they have served in my life. Realizing that not one man on my roster had fulfilled every single one of my needs. Perhaps one man is not supposed to? I have compiled snippets of the men that have entered my world. In the end, they have shoved me towards my bathroom mirror, forcing me to take a better look at myself. Reflection is brilliant and the strongest guidepost into ourselves.

Working on the next book in the series “A House for Every Purpose, My Journey From Pillow to Pillow” revels a woman abandoning her home in search or her identity beyond men, motherhood, author.
